CREATING A TEXTILE DESIGN COLLECTION For The Fashion Industry. Fashion textile designers today present their ideas as cloth cut into garment shapes, rather than in traditional flat Gouache on paper. During this course you will practice your textile design skills whilst working as a team to create a collection of designs for fashion fabric. You will learn to predict fashion textile trends, create seasonal colour pallets, mix paint and dyes to match colour swatches and be introduced to silk-screen printing, flocking and machine embroidery. You will learn how to engineer your ideas to fit a garment shape whilst creating groups of borders, placements and non-directional all-overs. You will learn how to present and sell your finished designs, keep records and accounts for self-assessment and complete the course by showing your collection to a fashion textile design agent. To qualify for this course, you must have studied textile design before and have the time to create at least one group of five designs between each lesson. Several students who have studied on this course are now working with a London based textile design agent, who is selling their work in Europe, Japan and America.

If you do not have the skills required to study on this course, you may wish to enrol for:
An Introduction to Textile Design for the Fashion Industry.
