ROWENA LUKE-KING
Short Courses

MACRAMÉ BELTS AND CHOKERS are made very simply by knotting together several lengths of cord in a pattern forming sequence. This course will teach you the basic principles of macramé whilst you make a belt, bag or choker. You will start by preparing a knotting board, attaching a foundation thread and mounting enough knotting threads to make the accessory of your choice. You will be introduced to a variety of knots used to create different macramé patterns and practice by mixing these patterns to produce a unique piece of work. You will be shown how to finish your work, use a bag handle instead of a foundation cord, attach buckles, cover bracelets and thread in beads. By the end of this course for which no previous experience is needed, you will be the proud owner of one of this season's 'must have' macramé accessories and will have developed the skills to make many more.
