FELT BAGS. This course will give you an opportunity to explore the principles of feltmaking whilst creating a felt bag. Using a combination of recycled woollen jumpers and carded wool tops you will experiment with different felt making techniques such as inlaying contrasting colours, adding shimmer with glitter and sequins or texture by fusing fancy yarns and fabrics to the surface whilst felting. You will make a calico template from which to craft a seamless felt bag, learn how to make felt flowers, pom-poms, tassels and handles and complete the course by lining your bag and adding a hand-stitched zip. By the end of this course you will have completed at least one finished bag and will be shown how to turn your felt flowers, tassels and pom-poms into jewellery. No previous experience is needed for this course.
