"After graduating in Textile Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in India (NIFT) I worked as the chief designer for WeaveTex in New Delhi, but when I moved to London I found it difficult to find work and signed up for lessons in Portfolio Development with Rowena Luke-King who was recommended to me by a friend; Isabel Exposito. Rowena was very positive about my work and sense of colour. She taught me new techniques including transfer printing, felt making and fabric sculpture but most importantly she showed me how to adapt my strong traditional Indian style to the more 'on trend' way of working in the UK. With Rowena's support and encouragement I have created a new collection of swatches some of which I have developed into accessories, and through her group of past students PS.RLK I have found freelance work with Eileen Willett of Wada and Susan Hollingsworth of Sukaz.
