PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT. Whether you are applying for an art foundation, a fashion or textile degree, or looking for a job in fashion and textile design it is essential to have a memorable and up-to-date portfolio that showcases your full potential. The content and presentation of your portfolio will depend on what doors you would like it to open and whilst you may be able to assess this for yourself, constructive consultations and project planning with an expert will ensure that you are given the best possible chance of achieving your goal. Your tutor will assess any existing work that you have and introduce you to relevant areas of study from the selection offered on this website. With an emphasis on developing your design and drawing skills you will be set a series of projects and be expected to work on these projects in your own time, producing sketch pads of ideas, 3D submissions and presentation pages. If you are looking for a career in textile design you will explore textile design techniques and layouts. If you are looking for a career in fashion design you will be introduced to fashion illustration and may wish to extend your skills by studying pattern cutting and garment construction. If you already have a substantial portfolio of work but would like advise on how to improve it, you may prefer to book a Portfolio Consultation.
