CREATING A GARMENT COLLECTION can be stressful and fraught with unexpected problems. It is essential to choose the right shapes, fabrics and colours for the season that you are working towards, test your fabrics before sampling and undertake extensive customer research before deciding on your market level and method of manufacturing. Patterns need to be notched, clearly labeled and cut to perfection and garment labeling needs to meet the requirements of Trading Standards. Individual Tuition in Creating a Garment Collection will help you at any stage of the production process that you feel needs attention. You will be offered help with your patterns, advised on how to approach wholesale fabric suppliers and carry out basic home testing for correct labeling. You will look at how to market your collection, how to organise outworkers for small-scale production and be advised on general trading terms and conditions.
