PATTERN CUTTING For Beginners is designed for people with competent dressmaking skills and will introduce you to traditional pattern cutting techniques such as dart manipulation. You will be shown how to make a half-scale, papier maché tailors dummy and use half-scale pattern cutting blocks to create new styles for tops, collars, sleeves, skirts and trousers. You will learn, how to add button wraps and facings and introduce fullness for gathers pleats and tucks, take measurements for personal block development and perfect your skills by making a full-scale manufacturers pattern and sample of your own design. If you wish to include Fashion Design in your pattern cutting study plan you may do so.
